Welcome to Aethervale Studios. We're a studio for series, films and games – and everything we tell is made in lovingly hand-drawn pixel art.
Sky and valley
The name joins two places: the aether, the wide sky of imagination, and the vale, the cozy place where stories feel at home. Our mascot stands right in between – on a floating rock island beneath the crescent moon.
Two stages, one world
Our projects share one library of characters, places and motion. That's why a character from a series can turn up in a game as if it had always lived there:
- BLOBB! is our first series: a small blue slime, a woodland world and a narrator who loves to exaggerate. It starts as vertical shorts.
- MallowDrop is our first game: a match-3 with a story for iOS and Android, starring Blobb and Grumbold the dragon.
What's next
On this blog we'll share what we're working on: making-ofs from the pixel toolkit, devlogs from game development and news from the studio.
One more thing: our mascot doesn't have a name yet. If you have an idea, write to us.
